Concentric, Double Offset & Triple Offset (Metal Seated)
Butterfly Valve is a quarter-turn valve that uses a disc-shaped element that rotates 90° to open or close flow. With a compact, lightweight design and low installation cost, butterfly valves are the most economical choice for large pipe sizes (above 10 inches).
Butterfly Valve gets its name from its disc shape resembling butterfly wings. When rotated 90° (quarter-turn), the disc aligns with the flow direction (fully open) providing minimal flow resistance. When rotated perpendicular to the flow (fully closed), the disc presses against the seat to create a tight seal.
The main advantage of butterfly valves is that they are lightweight, compact (space-saving), and highly economical compared to gate or ball valves, especially for pipe sizes above 10 inches. Although initially only used for low-pressure applications, the development of Double Offset and Triple Offset (Metal Seated) technologies allows butterfly valves to be used for high-pressure, extreme temperature, and corrosive fluid applications in the oil & gas industry.
Karya Mandiri Valve provides Butterfly Valves ranging from Concentric (Resilient Seated) types for water and HVAC systems, to Triple Offset (Metal Seated) which is fire-safe for hydrocarbon and steam applications. Available in Wafer, Lug, and Flanged designs complying with API 609, AWWA C504, and MSS SP-67 standards.

Disc rotates exactly in the center of the shaft. Seat uses rubber (EPDM/NBR). Most economical, suitable for water, HVAC, and non-corrosive fluids at low to medium pressures.

Shaft is slightly offset from the disc center, so the disc doesn't rub against the seat during open/close. Reduces wear, allows higher pressure & temperature. Seat can be PTFE or Metal.

Three offset points ensure metal-to-metal contact without friction until tightly closed. Resistant to extreme temperatures, fire-safe, and zero leakage. Ideal for steam, hydrocarbon, & high-pressure.

Thin body design without its own flange. Installed 'sandwiched' between two pipe flanges using long bolts (through-bolt). Lightweight, compact, and most cost-effective.

Body has tapped bolt holes on each side. Allows pipe on one side to be removed without disturbing the other side. Suitable for dead-end service.

Butterfly valve equipped with an actuator (Electric or Pneumatic) for remote automatic operation. Can be integrated with PLC/SCADA systems.
Note: The Concentric (Resilient Seated) type is generally limited to Class 300# / PN 40 due to the limitations of rubber seat materials. Meanwhile, the Triple Offset (Metal Seated) type can reach Class 600# up to 1500# for extreme pressure & temperature applications. The AWWA C504 standard (150A/250A) is generally used for large-scale clean water distribution over 24" in size.
