Direct Acting, Pilot Operated, Piston & Diaphragm Type
Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) is an automatic pressure regulating valve that functions to lower the variable inlet pressure into a constant outlet pressure according to the set point. This valve is crucial to protect downstream equipment from excessive pressure and maintain piping system stability.
Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) operates by automatically adjusting the disc opening based on the outlet pressure sensor. If the outlet pressure drops below the set point, the spring or pilot will open the disc wider to increase flow. Conversely, if the outlet pressure rises above the set point, the disc will close partially to reduce flow.
This precision control mechanism ensures that downstream equipment such as pumps, heat exchangers, or household taps receive safe and consistent pressure, even if the inlet pressure from the main pump or boiler fluctuates.
Karya Mandiri Valve provides PRVs for various media (Water, Steam, Gas, Oil) with Direct Acting, Pilot Operated, Piston, and Diaphragm types. Available in Cast Iron, Bronze, Stainless Steel, and Carbon Steel materials according to ASME and BS standards.

Outlet pressure directly opposes the spring force. Simple design, lightweight, and economical. Suitable for low to medium flow rates with slight pressure fluctuations (water line, air compressor).

Uses a small pilot valve to control the main diaphragm. Provides high precision control, large flow capacity, and excellent outlet pressure stability even when flow changes.

Uses a metal piston as the main driver. Resistant to higher pressures and temperatures compared to rubber diaphragms. Often used for steam and hot vapors.

Uses a flexible diaphragm (rubber/PTFE) that is very sensitive to pressure changes. Provides fast response and is suitable for corrosive liquids or clean water.

Combination of Pressure Reducing Valve and Check Valve. Reduces pressure while preventing backflow. Saves installation space because it doesn't require 2 separate valves.

Equipped with bellows that balance the force from inlet pressure, so the outlet pressure remains precise even if the inlet pressure varies significantly. Suitable for gas and steam.
Note for PRV: The class values above refer to the maximum inlet pressure rating held by the valve body. Outlet Pressure is adjusted via spring or pilot under the inlet rating (e.g., Class 300# inlet PRV can be set outlet at 5 bar, 10 bar, up to 40 bar). Spring range selection must be adjusted to the desired outlet pressure.
