Wafer, Lug, Pneumatic & Electric Actuated Type
Knife Gate Valve is a valve specifically designed to handle solid, viscous, slurry, and powder fluids. Using a sharp knife-shaped gate element, this valve is able to cut and separate solid material trapped in the valve seat, ensuring a tight shut-off even in dirty operating environments.
Knife Gate Valve takes its name from its knife-like tapering gate shape. Unlike standard parallel gate valves, the blade in this valve is designed to cut (shearing action) solid or fibrous material flowing in the pipe. When the valve is closed, the sharp edge of the blade will split the material and the seat, preventing trapped material that could cause leakage or valve seizure.
This valve is highly ideal for fully open or fully closed applications and is not recommended for throttling. Due to its compact design (often wafer type) and thin body, the knife gate valve is much lighter and more economical compared to conventional gate valves for large pipe sizes.
Karya Mandiri Valve provides Knife Gate Valves in various materials (Cast Iron, Ductile Iron, Stainless Steel) with manual operation options (handwheel, chain wheel), pneumatic, or electric actuator. Metal seated types are also available for abrasive and high-temperature applications.

Thin body design without its own flange, installed between two pipe flanges. Lightweight, economical, and most commonly used for slurry and wastewater applications.

Body has tapped bolt holes on each side. Allows pipe on one side to be removed without disturbing the other side. Suitable for dead-end service.

Equipped with a pneumatic cylinder for fast, automatic operation. Ideal for systems requiring instant opening/closing and PLC/SCADA integration.

Uses an electric motor for automatic operation. Suitable for systems requiring precise control and lacking a compressed air supply.

Stem does not rise or fall during operation. Suitable for underground installations or spaces with vertical limitations.

Uses highly wear-resistant metal-to-metal seats. Designed for high-temperature abrasive fluids, such as fly ash, sand, and mining slurry.
Note for Knife Gate Valve: The majority of Knife Gate Valves are designed for low-pressure applications (usually max Class 150# or PN 16) because their function focuses more on handling solid/slurry material rather than holding high pressure. For high-pressure slurry applications, it is recommended to use the Metal Seated type or consult technical requirements directly with our team.
